MR. ZAHID ALI ABBASI (PAS- BS-20)

Mr. Abbasi has an extensive field experience in public sector and development sector of almost 23 years. Accordingly, after qualifying CSS competitive exam in 1995, he started his career in Islamabad in 1996 in Cabinet Secretariat and Prime Minister secretariat Islamabad and then began his field job in most backward areas of Baluchistan as Assistant Commissioner in Districts of Quetta, Turbat and Nasirabad from 1999-2001. He was transferred to Sindh Province in 2002 to join his assignment in development sector as Head of District support Unit (HDSU) District Badin in National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) from (2003-2005) to promote primary health care initiates and universal primary education in collaboration with Education and Health departments of government of Sindh. From (2005-2007), he joined the District Government Badin as Head of Community Development and Revenue Departments.

In 2007, he went abroad to join his mid career professional devolvement program (PDP) jointly funded by Government of Pakistan and World Bank to pursue his Masters Program in the field of Economic Policy and Management in Columbia University New York USA from 2007-2008. Under subject program he did on- job trainings with UNDESA UNHQ New York and World Bank HQ Washington DC. On return in October 2008 from USA, he joined Finance Department Government of Sindh as Additional Finance secretary Budget. Further from 2009 to 2012, he joined very important field assignment as DCO District Coordination Officer District Government Ghotki Sindh, where he was in lead position to deal with the departments of Education, Health, Agriculture, community development and was head of Annual District Development Program and there he also worked as Project Director in various development programs of Provincial and Federal government in the District.

From (2013 -2016) he joined his foreign posting as Commercial Attaché Embassy of Pakistan The Hague, in Netherlands to promote trade and investments between Pakistan and Netherlands, and creating linkages between various Dutch Ministries and Government of Pakistan in development sector. In 2017, he worked as Special Secretary in departments of Culture, Tourism and Health - Government of Sindh at Karachi. Currently he posted as Secretary Population Welfare Department Government of Sindh.
